PROPOSED MFL RULES
Use existing professional mixed martial arts and boxing rules as outlined by the State Athletic Commissions and the ABC, but with certain modifications as noted:

Six pro bouts per show, with three being mixed martial arts and three being boxing

Each bout will be three to five rounds, and each round will be three minutes

Four weight divisions will be highlighted. 135lbs….145lbs….155lbs….185lbs

Team will consist of six active fighters, and four reserve fighters

Each team roster must have all active fighters living in the team cities or within 50 mile radius

A winning match bonus of $3,000 will be split with the six fighters on each match that is won.

Each fighter on each team will be paid a guaranteed purse of $2,500 per match.

The Major Fight League will institute a new and exciting Fighters Compensation Formula, to ensure that every fighter, in every fight, has a reason to give maximum effort.

Now, winning will mean more than an improvement of a fighter’s record, it will mean a bigger financial reward.

Fighters will be signed to a MFL Promotional Fighter Contract

Teams can release a fighter at anytime and place them on the MFL Waiver List

Other MFL teams can select a fighter off of the MFL Waiver List but fighter must adhere to team 50 mile residence rule

Team with most points at end of six bouts is declared the winner

The MFL has created a unique scoring system that makes each match and how it is won critical to each team’s success, and ensures that each match means something, even the last match of the night!

Each team carries 10 fighters

All 2024 MFL fighters under a MFL Promotional Fighter Contract are forbidden from fighting on another fight card in the year signed, unless they are placed on MFL Waiver List, and they clear waivers

All MFL fighters under a MFL Promotional Fighters Contract can be sold to another MMA organization based on compensation agreement being reached between MFL League office and other MMA organization

All MMA pro fighter with no more than six pro bouts (to be determined) are eligible to be drafted but must submit a MFL Fighter Information Questionnaire.​
